GotoWebinar WMVs - How to Edit the Content

GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar offer the ability to generate a Windows Media Player file at the conclusion of the broadcast. Nice feature, right? Except that GTM and GTW produce a file that requires their proprietary codec AND the file cannot be edited in programs like Adobe Premiere and Camtasia Studio. Thanks to a very useful post on geekfactor.charrington.com, here is a workaround that seems to do the trick

1.       Download the Codec:
http://www.gotomeeting.com/codec

2.       Download Microsoft Expression Encoder 4. Set the encoder to the highest output quality and create a new WMV. This should repair the file and allow it to be modified in your favorite video editing tool.
